Here’s what just happened. The judge sent a memo to the jury (I have a copy of it.) It basically tries to clear up any confusion from his instructions yesterday. The memo instructs them that if they want to listen to any phone calls again, they can only hear the portion of the call that was played in court. They cannot listen to any portions they haven’t heard before. It sounds like they wanted to hear other calls so they can have some context. Are they looking for any signs of remorse? Who knows?

This is obviously a hung jury….good for them. I hope the 3 people who are doing what’s right as the death penalty is morally wrong can stand up till this judge, who is obviously pushing for the death penalty, is forced to admit the jury is hung and give him life without parole.
All this is an indication of just what is idiotic about the death penalty. There could have and should have been a plea bargain in which the death penalty was off the table and we wouldn’t have this spectacle and this hurting of the victims’ families. Unfortunately, the victims cannot be brought back no matter what the penalty. So why prolong it.
Also if this judge continues his push for the death penalty he clearly wants, I owuld hope an appeals court would immediately throw out such a coerced verdict. The juery system is set up so the minority, who disavow the death penalty, can have their say.

Blah Blah Blah . . . .
Morally wrong until Brian Nichols breaks out of Prison (AGAIN) and kills (AGAIN) your wife and rapes (AGAIN) your daughter.
Then it’s F***n personal !!

I usually don’t like the death penalty. But this is a case where I don’t see him rehabilitating. I only see him spending his life trying to escape again. For the callous disregard he showed when taking these people’s lives, and the complete and utter lack of remorse he has shown, I have to say I wish they would have given him the death penalty. I really do. Now we have to pay for him to live for decades more. Housing, food, entertainment, education. He gets all that free for the rest of his life and we pay for it. How in the world is that right?

He can’t escape from a Maximum security prison, no way. Death is not going to bring back those victims.
