I swear, there’s never a dull moment in this trial. Judge Jim Bodiford gave defense attorney Henderson Hill a tongue-lashing! Hill was upset about something Lisa Meneguzzo said on the witness stand. She read part of a letter Brian wrote her. He wrote, “I talked to my lawyer, Josh, the one you spoke to. He was looking at me crazy because, a situation like this, I shouldn’t trust people.” Well, outside the presence of the jury, Hill told the judge he felt that statement made the defense team look bad. So he tried to withdraw from the case. The judge accused Hill of whining and trying another delay tactic. He told Hill if he wants to put his colleague Josh Moore on the stand to explain himself to the jury, go right ahead. Hill didn’t have much of a response for that. The judge said of the jury, “If they believe some of the testimony of Miss Meneguzzo. I don’t know whether it’s true or not, but if they believe it, that’s some very damning testimony for Mr. Nichols. I can see why you’re upset about it.” The judge denied the motion.
